The 5 th International Telemann Competition 2009 invites applicants historical woodwind instruments (recorder, baroque flute, baroque oboe). The competition is open to public. Musicians who were born after March 7, 1974 or before March 7, 1991 can enter the competition. Each participant is required to play either on a period instrument or on a replica of a period instrument.

Professional continuo players (harpsichordists) will be available. It is possible for the participants to present their program with accompanists of their choice. An ensemble consisting of 2 violins, viola, violoncello, violone and harpsichord will be provided by the competition committee for the 3 rd round (final). Rehearsal times with the accompanists will be available in any case.

A double-manual harpsichord will be provided by the competition organizers. The pitch is a1 = 415 Hertz (tempered after Vallotti).
